How we run it
Every check is run the same way so the result is comparable with the next one.
- Four engines. ChatGPT with search on, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews or AI Mode. Claude is added if you tell us your buyers use it.
- Neutral conditions. A fresh session, logged out, no history, from a US location unless you choose another market. The engines personalise heavily; this removes the personalisation.
- Your five questions, verbatim. We do not improve them before running them, because the point is to see what your buyer sees. If a question is too broad to be useful we say so in the report and suggest a sharper one.
- Same day run. All twenty question-engine pairs are run within the same working day, so the results are not skewed by an engine update in between.
- Everything recorded. Each answer is saved with its citations, the date and the settings, and the prompts are included in the report so you can re-run them.
What the report shows
The report is two pages. The first is a table: your five questions down the side, the four engines across the top, and in each cell one of three results: cited (your site is a source), named (you are mentioned but the source is somewhere else), or absent.
The second page goes cell by cell. For every question and engine: the firms that were named, each cited source with its address, and what kind of source it is, such as a directory list, a review platform, a comparison article, a forum thread or a vendor's own page. If your site was cited, it says which page and what was quoted. The page ends with a short note on the one or two gaps that matter most for your category, written in plain language.
It is a snapshot, dated, under stated conditions. Run again in a month it will differ, which is the point of recording the conditions.
What it does not do
- It does not tell you what to change page by page. That is the audit, which reads your site and prices each fix.
- It does not measure traffic or leads. Search Console shows how often Google's AI features displayed your pages; this check shows what the engines actually answer.
- It does not promise anything. A clean sheet of "absent" is common for a small firm and is a starting point, not a verdict.
- It is not a ranking report for classic search. If you want that too, say so and we will add the ordinary Google positions for the same five questions.
What happens afterwards
You get the report by email within two working days. If you want to talk it through, reply and we set a time in your working hours. If you do not, nothing else happens. Many people run the check, read it, and act on it themselves; the report is written so that you can.
If the gaps are worth closing with help, the next step is the AI Visibility Audit: twenty questions, a map of the sources cited in your category, a page-by-page read of your site and a priced plan. It costs $2,500 and the fee is credited in full against the implementation sprint.
